Jeep annual fees/taxes/insurance costs/etc

Today is a baaaaaad day. I received the new "green" tax on my 4.0L TJ. Last year I had to pay the government 580euro ($870) and this year I have to pay 1,012euro ($1,518)!!!!!! That's almost double!!!!

Add to that my insurance which is around 1,200euro ($1,800) we're at 2,212 euro ($3,318) per year just to OWN the Jeep!!!!!!!

Gd dmn bureaucrats!!!!!!

At least the USA has managed to keep the cost of living down. Last night while window shopping with the gal, I found a Calvin Klein shirt for 95 euro ($142)!!!! Last time I was in the USA (August) I found these shirts around $30-$40!!! Prices are insane in Europe!!!

Ah, most recent example (relevant to this forum as well) is my new Rubicon Express (RE1610) trackbar. I can get it for $165 from the USA (+shipping) and here I'm getting it for 262 euro ($392)!!!

Well, each place has it's own benefits and disadvantages. You'd like Europe though. It's very diverse, but with the current state of the friggin' dollar it will be expensive. If you're around let me know! We might take you for some local wheeling!
