I love my YJ
With all of the things YJ guys have to worry about (D35, carbs, electrical gremlins, rust, etc.) Do any of you ever just want to trade in for a TJ or a JK and be done with it?
Nah me neither ![]()

I'll be honest, I really haven't had many problems with mine at all. I needed to replace parts here and there, but its been as reliable as the sun coming up in the morning. Removable top, 24 mpg highway, and cool gauges. I just removed the track bars, and now she rides amazingly! I love my YJ. I would like to supplement it with a JK Wrangler, but I would never replace it with one.

Me too, man. The only issue I have ever had with my YJ was a cracked header. But that seems to be common on all I6's. Other than that, only thing I have ever had to do was change the oil and put gas in it.

When I first bought mine 3+ years ago, I replaced exhaust, gas tank, radiator, carb. It was a pain at first.
In the past 60K miles, I have touched very little. Did a brake job somewhere along the way, replaced the tires, and a fan clutch. Really not much of consequence. |

When I first got my YJ, it was fine for first few weeks then lots of problems are popping up left and right. I just replaced the parts and keeping up with maintenance, eventually it got better than before. Keep in mind, you will never win the battle of rust.

Actually I went to trade my in when the TJs first came out. Had one picked out and was dickering with the salesman.
They would not give me what I wanted out of my YJ. Walked out. Went home and ordered everything for my SOA. Hour later the dealership called, said they would give me what I wanted for the YJ. Too late! Never have looked back!
