Doesn't that make the risk still there instead f a full snorkle which gets it way out of the way?

if you do this mod right, i hear you can take off the cap, and add a longer pipe for extra clearance.

it helps out your departure angle in water drastically, if you think about it when you enter water, your front end is lower at that point than when your in the water all the way, when you move the intake to the cowl you can enter deeper water because it doesnt matter how far your nose drops in upon entering the water.

plus it looks BA lol

well considering its 6-8 in over stock, sure its functional. People that have full snorkels arent going around driving with water up to the windshield. That would def save most people from hydrolock where i go wheelin

It is definately functional at the current location compared to stock. The cap comes off by removing one screw, I can then add an extension to bring it above the windshield if need be.

True, the windshield will not come down with this mod, but then I never put my windshield down. Not to mention my rack has already made it impossible to put the windshield down.

It'll also keep the fan from throwing water into the intake, which it likes to do.

Can you give us an idea on the parts you used in your build. Is that the stock airbox? What is the main tube from? etc...

Even if it didn't help with the water situation, as it does, it would definitely be great to get the cooler air, alone.
