How do you secure your dog while cruising with top down?
I'm just curious on everyone's ideas on securing their 4-legged friends. Here is a pic of mine. I made a custom length strap with a swiveled snap clip on each end. I then made an anchor to fasten to the bolt where the seatbelt straps go on the tub. Clip one end to the anchor and the other end to the "O" ring on a chest harness for the dog. He now can roam freely in the back without any chance of jumping out or hanging himself. This setup is sweet for if you have to stop in a store and you have top/doors off. He cant jump out and follow you like mine likes to do. (Went into pet store one day, left dog in jeep and about 5 minutes later, here he comes walking through the store looking for me. LOL) So i figured i better solve that problem. This seems to work. Whats everyone else using?

seems to be a popular topic for threads lately, must be because summer is here.
i like your idea. i use the Raingler netting since my dog seems to get himself tangled in any sort of lead. really great product and looks kinda cool also.

I have two chains, one to each side of the roll cage and attach to a BODY harness. because each reaches well past the mid point she has considerable side to side freedom but is still safely constrained.

we just have a seat belt harness bought at a pet store. We have 2 different models, one harness has a loop attached to the back that the seatbelt goes through, then clicks in. The other has a metal fastener that a loop secures to. So the part that the seatbelt goes through it always attached to the seatbelt, then I just click her in and out whenever I want.
They don't give her much movement, but she's safe in the case of a collision, too, since the seatbelt still acts as a restraint system for her.

Safari Straps.
Done deal. Get the HD ones.
Rough riding requires an additional lead for safety, but when we're wheeling, the pooches are hunkered down naturally anyway. With the nets, they're gonna have to escape thorough the cab, and that ain't happenin' with me at the wheel.
Some of the best money spent as a Jeep/dog owner. Highly recommended.

I leave that smelly thing in the back yard, why would I want him in my Jeep?

I had been tripling over the leash and attatched it to the seatbelt... limits her ROM real well, but didn't make me feel like she was all that safe. So I bought a body harness; she hates it, but is much less inclined to get up and walk around!
