I got my '13 Sport back in August and I love it. My previous jeeps were a '98 and an '06. While I liked them when I had them, I have to admit that the '98 drove like a tank.

I love my new one.

The people who hate the newer jeeps are most likely old heads or haters who can't afford a new jeep. A jeep is a jeep. Old or new we are all here for the same purpose. Get dirty!!!!!

Though I'm not as old as you. I can afford a new JEEP, but I still hate them.

Everything that was wrong with the new JK is nothing the aftermarket can't or hasn't alredy "cured" much like with all the other models before it.

I'm not downing you or trying to insult you, but I just hear from various owners
That the older models are better quality and perform better than newer models.
The JK is my DD, as was my TJ. Only have 700 miles on the JK right now. The only complaint is the damn throttle. Need to get used to it with the 6 speed. Being 95% highway miles, I haven't had that much time getting used to taking off from a stop. Always have had manual transmissions and this one is making me look like a teenager learning to drive a stick for the first time.

What little off-roading I did with the TJ, I can't see any problems with the JK. Most of it was while hunting. Only time and a few more miles will tell though.

I don't hate any Jeep. I love some more than others. Anyone who can afford a JK can afford any Wrangler.

I own a JK.

Guess that answers how I feel about them.

Merry Christmas,

John

These threads all end up the same. If you want quality and reliability, buy a Warn (with a TJ attached to it ).

I say as long as the driver does the Jeep wave I'm good with whatever Jeep they are driving.

I had the same problem when I got my '13 back in August. I've been driving sticks for 30 years, and for the first few days I kept stalling my new Jeep. It was very embarrassing, to say the least. Though I haven't done that in quite a while, I am still not shifting as smoothly as I would like.

And when proceeding from a stop light, I seem to give it too much gas when going.

No doubt. I first figured that this thread had to be from 2007, or possibly 2008. Still it goes on...

My wife has a 14 JKU and I have a 99 TJ. I tease her that she's got a chick jeep. But in reality, I love driving it. More power, smoother and quieter. Only thing I don't like is the throttle. ( no cable)
