Driving home tonight, I had to make a stop at the grocery to pick up some items for a pitch in tomorrow at work...and BAM! Hit a deer in the *** with my front driver side tire. The way it sounded, I thought holy hell I just destroyed my front end! Pulled over to the side of the road and whaddayknow...my damn maglight is dead (not to self, get new batteries) go to a friends house about a few miles away and inspect..
nada, nothing...not one thing on the front end damaged. couldnt believe it! I did however find one dime spot of deer flesh in the tread of my 35x12.5" Nitto Mud Grapplers.
I know one thing, I feel lucky I didnt have to call the ins. company and file a claim, and that deer is going to be hurting tomorrow.
another reason I love my tires!

Yeah. Got the idea from a fellow jeepforum member. Since I work at a steel mill the diamond plate was easily obtainable. And honestly I use it all the time since the Jeep is parked next to the beer fridge.

I whacked a deer back before the turn of the year. I hit it hard enough to send it whirling into a roadside ditch. Damn thing looked like a gymnast as it went flying. I pulled over and found that my front bumper was tweaked just a touch at the end and a bit of fur stuck between the fender flare and the fender.
I went back to check on the deer and as I approached, it got up and ran away.

I've hit 4 in mine. Banged up a fender on the first one which was the only real damage. The other three I clipped. It was gross, I actually hit one with my stock bumper and the end caught the belly of the deer and his entrails were 25 feet from his body when I got out to check the damage.
Probably more information than needed but interesting.

I hit a deer about 2 weeks ago. All that happened was that it took out one of the hella 500 lights on my bumper. The Jeep did a great job at field dressing the deer, its insides came out all in one piece. After that I did a complete lighting overhaul on the front of my Jeep. Trucklite LED headlights and IPF 968 100 watt driving/spot lights for the bumper. If I hit anything now then it's my fault. They already paid for themselves a few nights ago when I hit the high beams and as soon as I did a deer hopped out about 15 feet in front of me, enough time for me to react and get out of the way. We have an overpopulation of them around here, it's really annoying.

I hit a deer on my motorcycle a few years ago. Killed the deer and the motorcycle. I also learned that I don't bounce much at speed either!

We have hit 3 deer. After the last one the kids nicknamed the wifes car "the deer slayer".The car was totaled so we bought it back and drove it 3 more years.

^^ yeah. Was not a lot of fun! I really was not injured, though. Just a little sore in a few spots. Now, my helmet, gloves, jacket, boots, riding pants - all totaled. Several fingers on my gloves were worn through, helmet looked like I used a cheese grater on it and my jacket looked like it was food for a pack of wild dogs for a bit. But, they all did their part and kept me from getting hurt. I would not recommend anyone hitting a deer on a motorcycle. There is not much good stuff that happens when you do that.
