Hi all Im back with a 2013 JK

Hi there everyone. Well after several years of no Jeep in the driveway I am back. I sold my YJ and TJ and Grandwaggie some time ago.

Last Friday I picked up a 2013 Commando Green Sport Jeep JK. 2 door.
Ya I know its the sport. But I could not bring myself to get power windows and locks. Its a Jeep after all.

Still figuring out a few things on it. I guess its not required for them to have DRLs. I have been searching some posts to see how to do this mod.

So far I just did the gutter guard grill mod to protect the radiator.

OK I know this is silly and I'll search for it too but the woman wants to know what JK means. I have no idea either.

So far first impressions are good. It rides nice. Better than my old one.
Way to much plastic on it for me but what can you do.

I don't like the A pillar plastic with the big holes in them to access the bolts. I am going to look for some black plastic plugs.

I like the new v6 and 5spd auto that's fun to play with so far.

Well its off to 4x4 part etc to find some goodies like floor mats and the like.

Any things I should know to watch out for let me know. Ill be doing a lots of searching for mods again

My understanding it's a programming thing. Gotta get a dealer to set the computer (what a money grubbing racket)

I believe the AEV procal can switch them. And dealer should be able to do it...all vehicles sold in Canada are required to have them so I know its an easy change. And Congrats by the way!

Hi All,

Sorry I have not posted a picture as of yet. I have been working a lot and having way to much nice weather and fun with the Jeep topless.

I do have a pict but having issue resizing it to get to upload.

I ordered some new all weather mats for it and lock box for under the driver seat. But that's about it.
I am thinking of doing the led headlight change but that's crazy expensive.

I know I want to get some slider/steps but not sure what kind yet.

Well I ordered some goodies for the Jeep and then call back and ordered more LOL.
Xmas will come early. Hopefully this week.

Nothing much just floor liners and a cover fro it so the sun down destroy the top. I live near the water so I want o be sure to keep the salt off it.
I did manager to rearrange the garage to get it in but its not practical with a golf cart and a full size truck. But if we get a storm i can get it in .

Been driving it every day and loving it. Its been nice to go topless every day.

Cool! With any luck, I'll be making an "I'm back" thread in the next day or two, as well. Got my sights on an '08 JKUR. Congrats on your new toy!

Purely arbitrary model designation. They ran out of the "?J" designations and swapped to K in the more recently designed models. Every new model design above 2005 is a "?K" for example.

People will laugh saying it means "Just Kidding", but I'd like to see explanations for the WK, MK, KK, and XK (non wrangler) models :P

So far I am loving this new Jeep. Lots of plastic. Wondering if anyone has removed any of it and what underneath?
I was thinking of putting a 12V outlet in the cargo area for a cooler i takes on trips and stuff like that.

Anyone done this mode yet? Maybe I should make a new post.
I an going to try to add my own inverter too. I notice the back of the console has 2 blanks iteh hooks on them. I was thinking they were for usb and the plug from looking at a rubi i saw at the dlr.

I have a nice big inverter for now or I may buy one that goes ina cup holder just to keep it simple.

She does ride nice and the power feels good.

I might want to get the star for the hood and some numbers on the hood but they are all $$$ crazy stupid.
The other thing was to black out the hood. I miss the bump of the old style hoods. But there are more important mods to be done.

I do love basic 2 door Jeeps !!!!

And JK was what the designer said when first proposing the JK.....

JustKidding !!

My Uncles first Jeep was a Government Issued Jeep in 1944.
Back when ALL Jeeps were Government Issued.
