thats weird. you're lucky the pump even flows gas with the handle locked into place. mine stops every 5-10 seconds, so i have to hold the handle about half way up to get it to flow without stopping.

Just an FYI- in addition to filing a complaint, I called my dealer and the service manager told me he's heard of it a only couple of times. I followed Sgt Utz cue and contacted a news outlet asking them to consider a story.

2006 Wrangler "LJ"

Been spilling over since about Jan 2008. I've probably contributed about 5 gallons back into the earth to be dug up later and resold.

That's just it to, at least for me, there are no warning signs. You just have to know about how much you need in there to stop it and slow down the fill rate.

Man that sux, my 98 has never done it. I even hit the lever a few more times after it clicks. But if it did I would surely be pissed about it.

98 Sahara 4.0 5spd - 5" W/ 35" Boggers, Rubi 44 Front Locked & Chromo'd w/ 5.13's, 8.8 Rear Locked w/ 5.13's, NV241OR, Woody Shafts, Flat Skid, Tuff Designs Front Bumper, EPi9.0 W/ Blue steel

I spent most of my money on women, booze, and toys, the rest I just wasted.

X2 for me hard to get gas to go in at many gas stations. Every pump is different. Some pumps will cause the fuel to spray out when the tank is full. Other pumps wont let me lock the trigger in the on position. Normally I too hold the trigger half way down while fueling to control the flow of gas into the tank. Too much flow and the trigger clicks and stops the fuel flow. I've got a BL and it had the problem before the body lift. The first time it sprayed gas back at me I wasnt expecting it and got gas all over my clothes. Could have been a problem if there was an ignition sourse. Especially sense the back spray is a fuel, vapor and air from the gas tank mizture. Anyways I submitted a complaint through the website and called. There was a message that they have a high volume of complaints due to the Toyota recalls.
