Flying Through The Desert...CRASH!

It was about 2:00am Saturday morning. Was doing 50 or so through the desert. Hit a jump, caught some serious air! Front end nosed into the dirt. Almost endowed forward. Passenger side spring broke at the shackle and the rear bent, tire hit the fender, bumper is bent, drivers side spring is flat, both shackles are bent, amazingly the frame is still straight. (Just got it back from a friends body shop)

Do I have a decent warranty claim?

I think you already know the answer. We were lucky we weren't hurt.
Not gonna do that again...

This is how hard we hit. I should have taken pics before I powerwashed all the dirt and sagebrush off of it.

Well, lesson learned. Don't do 50mph through the desert in unfamiliar areas without Baja worthy race suspension, nor without some serious serious lighting.

Glad you were not hurt.

Looked like it was a nice YJ. Straight YJ's in great condition are getting harder to find.

And now, there is one less out there!

Seems your biggest problem is between the seat and steering wheel.

Well somewhat in your defense I love to go fast thru the desert too. I have yet to get any “air” and hope I never do. I hope you turn off the on-road safety features (forgot what the heck it’s called at the moment) because if not you run a high risk of running straight thru a curve. I learned that early on with my new at the time ’08 JKUR.

Nah, parts are on order, it will be ok. Jeeps are tough as hell. If it were anything else, I really think it would have been totaled. You should have seen the chunk of desert that was displaced.

I didn't really plan on getting air. It was a pretty good uphill section that suddenly went down into a wash. When the bumper hit I was pointed down and the ground was sloped up. Not the best way to land.

It was me and a friend. Wife said "I'm not going Jeeping with you this late at night"
I limped it to pavement and called her. She had to wake up my teenage son to help her hook up my trailer to my truck to haul the Jeep home.
I think I'm grounded right now!
