-I took the milk jugs off the bumper, then used a metal grinder to grind about 3 inches off each side (free)
-Added recovery points to front and rear ($25)
-took out the carpet, bc if you ride with the top down alot, you will inevitably end up wet. (free)
-replaced stock wheels and tires (used for $350)
As for future mods
-armor will be my next investment (you can spend lots on this, ill probably spend around $400)
-small, but substantial lift by next year($300)
-eventually a winch
Well first mod performance wise was i put two hella 500 driving lights up front. Much better for night driving. Next will be my lift and tires. The actual first thing i did to my jeep was lose the milk jugs. Then cragars, then i ripped the carpet out and raptored it
I'd say it depends on the shape of the rig. My "mods" are focused on the leaks and any other maintenance type stuff for right now. When I can trust it 100% then I will start on the fun stuff. I did pull the front bumper, cut 5" off each end with an angle cut and box the ends. My cost $0.
That much body lift is scary, for a look and safety stand point. But each to their own. I did the Rubicon Locker mod, first, but I would say armor things that factory didn't like, the oil/transmission pan, and steering box. Then lift and tires for added ground clearance, small body lift 1.25" or so, for tummy tuck skids.
