Ahhh, I too love my KJ. Technically, he is correct that the "Wrangler" name has always been under the chrysler corporation.

But, the rest.... Yowsa, I thought they couldn't post things on the Internet if they weren't true. Lol

Chrysler announced the AMC buyout in March of 1987. Wrangler had been out for a few months by then. The AMC logo is on a sticker in my 89's glovebox.

That's about the only correct part of the article-in Canada, the YJ and TJ were sold simply as the Jeep YJ and Jeep TJ. It wasn't until the JK that Wranglers were sold as Wranglers in Canada.

My TJ doesn't say 'Wrangler' anywhere on it, save the owner's manual.

"Buying a Jeep for on-road handling is like downloading porn to savor the cinematography."

^^^ good point. I have an old C3 corvette and nowhere on the entire vehicle does it say Chevy / Chevrolet. And, as a matter of act, only on the little tiny button on the seat buckle does it say GM.

If it didnt say corvette on the rear fascia, it would be completely devoid of any manufacturer/make/model designation.

I'm guessing it's a school project for like a web development class. It reminds me of the internet ten years ago.

I'm 99% sure this is a school project. It reminds me of pieces we were doing in high school right when the internet was getting more mainstream. They ended up being such a conglomeration of misinformation and facts that just happened to be true.
