Do you lock your doors?

I wanted to see what you guys/gals do? I have a soft top and I thought I read on here somewhere that you shouldn't lock your Jeep doors? Keeps thieves from cutting your top to get in if they want something. I don't plan on leaving anything of value in the Jeep so I think I will just leave them unlocked.

What does everyone do? Leave them unlocked or lock them?

I do not lock mine for that very reason. I do have some locking storage in my jeep so anything valuable I keep locked up and out of sight so they don't have a reason to break into my jeep

Don't lock it. Why risk having to replace an expensive top when it's not necessary. Buy an Instatrunk for the rear and maybe a Tuffy centre console for the front if you want to stow things securely (not much stuiff, but secure space nonetheless).

Thieves do rip and cut tops, even when Jeeps are empty. Why add that extra temptation by locking the doors? (as me how I know)

I dont lock my soft or hard doors. Its to easy to break into jeeps I would rather have to replace a headunit then a door or top.

I have had my window slided twice once with the door locked and again unlocked so It doesn't matter what I do. But I generally leave the doors unlocked now.

I lock my doors but I live in a low crime area where it is unlikley somebody will go to the trouble of cutting open a soft top. I park in my driveway, have a large dog that barks. At work I park in a high traffic area. I hardly ever go the the city and when I do I park in attended lots. So far, so good.

I never locked my soft top... locks only keep honest people out. better just keep it empty, or have a lighter & air freshner stolen, than to have to replace a SET of windows, and lose your Ipod.

Way ahead of you!
..and I rarely lock mine. Only when I'm in the slum, I mean city, during the day, and I have to leave something in it that's too big to stow. it goes on the front floorboard, in the shadows!

I leave mine unlocked, but be careful because that wont always work. Someone down at the boat ramp near my house leaves his doors unlocked as well, and a thief cut his front driver side window out, I guess assuming it was locked? Some people are also just total ****** bags, and will do **** like that for the hell of it. I figure if someone wants to get into my Jeep, I'll just offer the path of least resistance and hope they take it. I've got a tuffy glove box, locking 30mm center console, and an instatrunk, so nothing except less than a dollar in change, my Qtec floor mats, and maybe a piece of abc gum in a wrapper is ever left out.

If I have the hard top on I lock it. When the soft top is on I leave it unlocked. Granted it doesn't take much to pop one of these panels off the hard top.

I do not lock my doors either. I keep the garage door locked.

My 88 with a soft top doesn't even have door locks. Only time I ever had a problem was when I left it at a friends shop for a few weeks since I was out of town, lost a few CD's, but they left my Leatherman, go figure.

I lock mine when I have my hardtop on. If I'm running the soft top I don't bother.
