Diehard Platinum 34/78DT in stock

I was reading rumors about this popular double terminal battery being discontinued. Indeed, I was not able to find it on Sears' website and it was time for a new battery. On a chance I wandered into the Sears in Aurora, IL on Rt. 59 (Fox Valley Mall). They had 6 or 7 on the shelf so naturally I picked one up. If anyone is looking for this battery they have it.

ETA: I put this here instead of the regional forum thinking that if someone needed one 1,000 miles away maybe their local Sears could get it from here...?

I had no problem finding it on the Sears website. It doesn't say anything about it being discontinued.

Well, momma always said I'd be good at something. I guess it's not the interweb!

The P4 was discontinued supposedly, at least for a few months. It wasn't available on their website, and if you called the in-store staff said the computer displayed it as discontinued. the staff were not very knowledgable on the subject, but most stores still had old P4 stock in house. thats the story I gather after calling a few Sears stores in my area....some said it was discontinued but you could still buy what was on the shelf, some had no idea what i was talking about.

maybe it was just a manufacturing/supply issue, or maybe they really did try to discontinue it but after they looked at the purchases they realized discontinuing that battery was a very stupid idea .

And even if you can't find the P4 get the P1. Same battery without the side terminals. Don't believe it was ever "discontinued".
