I'm wanting to build my own... especially to mount my CB to. if anyone has any ideas on how to do it and what materials to use, or if you have pics please post 'em. thanks

i wanted to do this also. i saw this jk down at my local shop and it had 2 tubes welded from the main role bars that went across near the windshield, and in the middle of the 2 tubes, there were 2 more welded to it and the cb was in between the 2 of those. kinda like my crapy text pic here

(now thats if ur looking up at it from below) im not sure if this will make sense but ill try to get a real pics.

I took two pieces of 1" square tube and made an angle bracket front and rear to screw it to the top of the winshield frame and the roll bar. my cb is mounted to it and works well. i cant lay the winshield down though.

nice idea... do you have any pics of it? I have yet to put my windshield down so i'm not really worried about that.

It would be something similar to this.

I am considering making a overhead console for the CB and all my auxiliary switches.

here are a couple pics of mine. I used 1"x1" angle aluminum for the frame, and ran a piece of 3/4" plywood through the middle(cb mount bolted to the plywood). it bolted to the windshield frame, and to the sound bar(could have easily been made longer to attach to the roll bar though).

I removed it though, and plan to do something similar to the one above(in post #7), when I get around to puting in a cage.
