I love my jeep...but I would say stay away from 97s...or at least early ones... it gets confusing which parts on mine are for YJs & which parts are for TJs...

99 or newer with a distributor-less ignition (coil pack) would be nice, but I wouldn't consider it a deal breaker.

Check for rust... under the carpet, on the frame (especially near the rear upper control arms), the body mounts (especially on the channel under the doors.. under the body)...

Make a good list of what you want it to have, know the priorities & hold out for what you want.

Oh & look for something stock
