Belt loop death clock

As I was putting on my belt this morning, I felt the strangest thing!

As I passed it around my left rear quarter, the belt loop just left of center was attached at both ends.

Apparently my wife found jeans cheap and got me a new pair, and my TJ hasn't popped that loop yet. I feel almost like I'm dressed for a formal occasion, since only my suit pants are intact, being protected by the coat tails.

So, this being such an unusual event, I took a picture of my big fat seat-filler. and seek opinions on how long it will last. Since I've got a desk job, in cold weather, I can wear the same pair of jeans all week, so unless it gets warm, the result should be in soon. I'll post the carnage when it happens. Yes, I jsut noticed my camera doesn't handle leap year. I won't fix that until the end of this observation.

While funny, I don't see how this is Jeep tech?

It's not tech, but it's TJ-specific.

I have killed off over 20 pair of pants between this YJ and my previous YJ. So I would say it is not TJ specific.

I wrecked 3 or 4 pairs of pants that way.

But since I put on my 2.25in BB I haven't lost a beltloop yet.

Over the mountains and through the woods, across the stream and up the slickrock, down the canyon and over the rocks to nobody's house I go.

Short people have a harder time getting up inside, but they keep their seats further forward so they don't hit the latch. I also think some seat designs may minimize the issue. I slightly recline mine, which makes it worse. Those which won't recline miss that issue, and some have bigger ("bolsters"?) that make you enter a little further forward before you settle back.

Well, that didn't take long.

Leaving work in a hurry to get the kids from daycare, so I dropped my guard - and didn't take the picture until 50 minutes later.
Just under 10 hours.

Thus endeth the experiment for the day.

Oh, and it's hot - 1 pair of jeans per day hot. I'm about to perform the ceremony of the official start of summer. Doors to their hooks, windows to their pants-hangers, top to a pile in the corner.

Windshield? Maybe a few more weeks.

Haha, this is awesome, just getting back in the Jeep world, but I had to search "Beltloop" as soon as I got here. I had started a thread many years ago called the "Beltloop Monster" that went on forever. I might go ahead and just cut a few of mine off to save the suprise, LOL!

Can we take a poll of the drivers weight? Might have something to do with this issue too.
