Battery Stolen

Had some prick steal my battery last night. And to make matters worse they cut every single wire under my hood. Not just the ones on the battery but ones on the driver side to. Looks like they took some snips and cut every wire they could see. Now I have miss work today and spend it tracing wires.

Sorry had to vent.

A little late but I had locks on my TJs hood for that very reason.

Yeah!
Denver is not a very ...safe place.
The murder rate is 10% than the nat'l average
The robbery rate is 8% higher
The theft rate is same.
The cops are abusive and uninterested
Gas is expensive

Craigslist has STOPPED accepting Wrangler doors for sale because it was feeding a midnight auto business

And the Broncos lost in the 1st round...

Denver.

Are you sure...It is only about the battery?
Cutting the wires...that is a up yours move...
You have an enemy.(???)

On a side note...
All the phones at work would not work a few weeks ago.
The copper wire was gone from the phone pole to the building.
$900 repair, $3 in scrap copper.

I agree, thieves just want to to take something quick and easy with as little risk as possible

taking a battery accomplishes that, spending time cutting any wire they see takes too much time and makes risk grow exponentially for no reason at all

sounds like some wuss just wanted to **** with you

It's a jerk move to steal the battery. These tweakers snip wires here to steal more efficiently no saw a guy riding a hike down the street last week with two batteries hanging off each side of his handlebars and all the cables were connected with six inches of lead hanging off.

The world is a terrible place nowadays. I want to create a deadly form of meth and induce white trash genocide

I like your way of thinking!

Or how about putting a rattlesnake on the battery that is tied in place so it can't go anywhere except to strike at someone trying to steal the battery??

With as much time as the average YJ owner spends under the hood, a rattlesnake may not be a wise choice. I know you have ordered the lock already, but for those who have not, there are simple "gate" alarms that make a metric-sh*t-ton of noise when engaged. They work on the magnetic switch and could be easily modified and mounted under the hood.

A 110db alarm may scare off would-be thieves and at least wake you up.

That's pure crap. I would have gladly given my battery in return for unclipped wires.

Lame.

Sorry for your troubles.

I doubt it's an enemy. It was more than likely a kid trading batteries to get a ten dollar core at the JY. The snipping of wires was there sadistic way of having fun. I once caught a couple of kids on skateboards rolling down the street knifing tires. Called the cops and they took off. If you truly think it might be an enemy keep an eye out when you are repairing the wires, see if anyone is getting a hard on watching you do it. Sorry for your luck, you should rig up an electric fence energizer to your handles on the hood, see how they like that. When you lean on an electric fence by accident, it sure learns you not to do that again.

Sent from my iPhone, probably because I am bored at work.
