Anyone have a windshield that isnt trashed?

Going into the third month with our jeep. We just had one spider fixed in the glass two weeks ago, got another huge double tap on it yesterday and another nick in it today. I'm afraid my insurance is going to stop fixing them if I have to call for repairs every other week. I have a feeling its unavoidable though. Is there anything that can help deflect them, most bug shields don't seem to work that well aside from protecting the paint they cover.

Ah the joys of wrangler. Eventually you'll stop caring and replace it when it gets really bad.

Guess that didn't answer the question. Not that I know of, they are all pretty much trashed. Almost vertical, flat glass can only hold up for so long.

Clearplex. It's a film that covers the windshield. Works magic. The only downside is that eventually you'll have to replace the film, especially if you like to use your wipers a lot. If you don't, it'll last a long time. It costs arount $200.

On my second windshield, owned Jeep since day one Jan 17 2000.
Only had to replace OEM unit due to self inflicted sparks from a grinder.

I just replaced mine yesterday. My other wrangler has several chips. I try to alternate the insurance claims by 3 months. I've had no problem with the last 3 claims

Mines barely a year old and I have cracks in every part of the windshield ( at least 6 origin points). My inspection sticker is for two years though so I'm waiting to replace it till right before I need a new one.

Mine lasted 22 years then hood latch failed one day.

If it's not supposed to move and does use duct tape.
If it's supposed to move and doesn't use WD40

Had this TJ since '98 and only have 1 rock chip in it from a couple years ago, got it filled up quickly and it's stayed like that so far.

Hang a couple tennis raquets in front of the windshield.

We picked up another huge bullseye the day after posting this, it's ridiculous. I'll need a new windshield 2-3 times a year at this rate.

I just recently got my first chip, luckily its not in my view... I wonder sometimes how mine has lasted so long even after taking a chunk of 2x4 at 60mph and all the branches that have hit it

Had mine close to two years. Only had 1 rock hit. It didn't spider. Had it filled. Can't even see it unless you look hard. Of course now that I said that, I'll get a huge crack tomorrow!

Chipped, spidered, running cracks are all sought after upgrades for windshields in Nevada. The only way to avoid them is to never leave the city surface streets and mall parking lots.

I usually replace one when the Highway Patrol tells me to or when it's so bad that I can no longer see out of the windshield.
