Well I traded it in, but it was fixed after the last time. The new one leaks tho . I did not buy that one new so I could not get a lemon law, it fell under some warranty law.

The 2008 Jeep Wrangler is not so much an SUV as it is an experience. It's slow and loud, handles poorly, has crummy interior materials and features doors that provide virtually no crash protection. But when it comes to off-road performance, the Wrangler is simply the best choice available.

So I have great news. I went for the lemon law on my 2011 2DR Wrangler and it worked, I'm getting a brand new 2012 JK to match the one I have now.
Here's my recap.
I had a water leak at both doors on the hinge side. That was the ONLY place I had leaks. I have Both soft and hard top. ( I did the hard top almost a year after I had gotten it.)
The problem is above the hinges at the corner point where the door rubber seal runs along the windshield and ends above the doors mirror. At that curve in the door the seal gasket presses up against the rubber windshield gasket next to where the dashboard ends ( by the round heat vent) The water somehow gets around the rubber and runs down on the inside of the door rubber ends up spilling onto the floor. Basically if the dashboard was not there you would see the exact place the leak happens.
I had it at the dealer 5 times and more than 30 days in total. The last try the brought in THE JEEP water leak specialist. Within 24 hours during the next light rain I had soaked carpets.
I set up the hose just to MAKE SURE and watched as water seeped in around the weather-stipping at the hinge side of the door and that's it, I quit.
I called the service manager to find out how to proceed and here's how it goes.
I called the Jeep customer service center ( number in back of owners manual) and told them why I was calling- Lemon law- they then take all my info on Jeep. I'm told I'd be getting a phone call within 3-5 business days from a case manager. THATS where this got to be a pain in the a$$. NO ONE ever called. I started the week before Thanksgiving, I waited till the monday before Thanksgiving and STILL NOTHING. I call back, I only talk to customer service, They know anything, can't really answer questions about how this works and keep telling me that the file has been moved on to the Case management center. The Monday after Thanksgiving I call again, tell them I have talked to NO ONE about how this works. NOW they are always trying to be helpful and they transfer me to a woman in Case management. Now at least I have a name, number and extension. She looks into it and agrees I should have gotten a phone call about how this will proceed etc, but she still can't really give me any info, BUT, when I check back 2 days later, she tells me that the local dealers district manager ( this is who actually deals with this stuff apparently) will be at my dealer to check up on all this. I check with Dealer and that's what's going down.
I get a call from Dealer that Friday, that YES they will replace my jeep and that I now have to wait for a call from someone on how this will be handled.
I get the call yesterday from a group call ISG- these people are NOT JEEP but a 3rd party that deals with Lemons etc. Basically Chryslers insurance company. So NOW I go over with them what I have and what they are going to do.
They basically are giving me a credit of my purchase price to replace vehicle with a LIKE vehicle. I remind her that I have added on Hard top, side steps and 5 OEM alloy rims and tires. She tells me I will be compensated for those also, only hitch is I need receipts for everything. I'm good except for tires that I got on craigslist. That could be the only hitch BUT I realize this woman is NOT A DEALER has no clue and I'm sure I can work it out.
I end up at my dealer an hour later and start working out the details. They will get me a 2012 equipped like mine and WORST CASE they will transfer all my add-ons to new Jeep. They gave me a color choice of what they can find and at this point they are just looking for the New one and will let me know when it shows up. I was hoping they would just 'upgrade' me to the next package: power windows, better stereo etc ( I know they have just that sitting on the lot) but they only have to give me what I started with-to get an upgrade I'd have to pay the difference. I haven't gotten any farther with this yet but I have a feeling the dealer it will throw something in this for me after all I've had to deal with.
To be continued!

My thought exactly. My only question is is the new engine proven? How long has it been around? What else has it been used in? I have not been following the new stuff that closely.

It has been proven....and you will have a smile a mile long when you get the 2012. I am persistent like you are! and this is good news for all Jeep owners.
I wish you the best, and keep us posted please. I know you will once you get your foot on the new engine

I had the samething happen. I had an 08 that went back 11 times, I sent all my service tickets to them and got a call the next day. I ended up getting a 10 out of the deal.
Make sure you have all your add-on stuff together. The company ISC will make sure you get paid for them they will also give you sticker price for your jeep no matter what you paid.
Now is your chance to upgrade dont let it pass you by. Get the better speakers (I took that and a few others) its well worth the extra. OH yea they will also make you pay for the up-grades you get in cash so make sure you have that ready. Theyt wont tell you that as if you dont have it that breaks the deal.

Basically I'm getting the upgrades I had already had done on the 2011, I had gotten side steps, Hard top and the 18" alloy wheels. I kept my performance exhaust system and nicer speakers. The big upgrade seems to be the new motor. Can't wait to see how this feels ;-)

i bought a 2010 unlimited sport new off the lot in march of this year. i took it back 6 times, and was in a rental car for over 80 days. they say there is no problem and cant find a leak. i called chrysler and they pulled the service record. turns out the dealership had it in the shop 2 times before i bought it because of a leak. Im still fighting over the numbers but i got a 2012 unlimited rubicon as a replacement.

Any updates on your case? Let us know what is going on; I'm just beginning the process & am worried about the details. What about my loan, the down payment, the payments I have already made, mileage, usage? I'm so frustrated, but I really want another JEEP!
