Granted I have some rubber floor mats and I strongly suggest you do the same. No sense in putting constant wear on the liner. You WILL eventually work through it. That is inevitable. Just like your pedals. I am nearly to the metal on the clutch pedal IIRC:laugh:
It is at least a good idea to put some mats down for the first month or two of having the liner sprayed on, it starts out semi-soft and it will get harder and harder with time. I'd say between 1-2 months it will be 100% fully cured.
Check out my Raptor thread as I think many others have also noticed it starts out relatively hard, but it gets more and more so with time.
Thats good lookin out... Thats what I was wondering. I would prefer to avoid putting any mats down, hints the reason im doing the lining, but I may put some down for a couple months like you said. What page of your build is the lining on?
Mine's been in for over a year and a half. I didn't put mats in for a few months but this stuff is slippery if you have wet shoes so I put in some rubber mats.
The mats stay in place fine. I didn't want the rubber spikes on the bottom of them possibly wearing marks in the liner so I cut them off with a razor blade.
I did 3 coats on everything and just went extra heavy (more like 4 coats) on the floorboards and cargo area.
I just taped the brake and clutch pads and removed the gas pedal. Sprayed the clutch and brake arm and wish I sprayed the gas pedal mechanism. Stuff is holding up great. When I wash the jeep I'll geat a soapy sponge inside and spray it out. Back to looking new . You'll love the product.
No pics-but the only place where there is wear is where your foot is in contact with the floorboard when mashing on the gas. Everywhere else looks GREAT.
Oh just a tip for when you're cleaning your raptor to get it back to black. If it's really dirty, take some of that foaming tire cleaner and spray it on, let sit for 15-30 seconds then wipe off with a towel then spray the tub out with water so the excess oils are taken away. Back to black and the dirt is gone.
i just put plastic around my petals and sprayed and buy a respirator. the fumes were killing me so i went and bought one
