Most of the jk's i see never even hit a gravel road much less a trail. While i do think they could have done just as well with a different suv. it is nice to know there will be plenty of parts jeeps available in the future. Be nice to get a cheap rubi off some soccer mom that only went mall crawling.

You know what separates the men from the boys? There $40,000 toys. I think the hate stems from envy. Kids even tho I could have bought 2 so called "real jeeps" for what I paid for my JK. I chose the new Jk because I know who owned it before me and what was done to it. I know if there is an issue for the first 60,000 mile it will be taken care of.

It's not a Real Jeep(tm) unless it's white. (1)

NOTES
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
1: I thought I'd throw in my entirely subjective, and subsequently worthless, opinion on what constitutes a real Jeep.

went thru your build thread, you have done some very nice bolt on mods.
now, how about posting some action shots so we know you actually use it.
wheeling at the mall doesn't count.

I like TJs better as stated earlier. ..but... those still whining about how the jk is an abomination need to resume yelling at kids on their lawn....things change. ..the TJ is a luxury car compared to older jeeps. ...

LOL, I could have 2 JK's for what I've got in my TJ......

And I'd still rather have my TJ for what I do and what I like. Nothing against JK's at all, they're great vehicles. But there are constraints in place that make them unattractive to me from a certain point of view (tub is flush with the frame in the rear, for example). I could go take a JK off the lot today but you don't see me doing that. Envy is not part of the equation here and I doubt it is for most.

Yes, the JKU is the current fad, just as parachute pants in the 1980's, but you didnt see me in those either. Yes, soccer moms are saving jeep at the tune of 150,000 more units a year.

What would I rather have is not what everyone else wants. I have what is as close to a scrambler as I can get without being one. It has coils which allow my wife to enjoy it. We all dance to a different tune the nice thing is we truly love the music WE dance to. So if its not your tune, change the channel. Disney is one channel over....
