You'll have to answer that for yourself. I just purchased a 2014 JKUR X a little over a week ago. It's just what I wanted, not what I needed. I have a habit of buying more capability then I absolutely need whether it's a Jeep, motorcycle or a firearm. If you plan on leaving it basically stock I feel it's a fair value. If you heavily mod it no. Keep in mind that your 45k Rubi X will depreciate from the MSRP. If you spend 35k on a base Rubi and drop another 10k into mods it's still a 35k Jeep. In the eyes of any dealer taking it on trade in the future all your mods have no value.

What is your plan for it?
Do you plan on doing 10-20k worth of upgrades?
Or do you get something cheeper, do the upgrades and save some cash?

I think it depends on the person. You ask 100 people, and you will get 100 different opinions.

To me?

No.

I don't care how many square feet of leather my *** will sit on, or how much heat the seats put out, or how many neat little badges the body has. Ain't worth 45 grand to me.

I don't see it being that price I am afraid. The cheapest 12-13 JKUR within 500 miles of me is selling for 31, 959.

I am fully aware that we can all get a better deal than list price but think the 40k range would be a better estimate.

If you would otherwise go with a completely optioned out Rubicon, the small extra cost for the unique style isn't bad. I like the bumpers personally.

Still, I bought my JKUR before the 10th anniversary was announced. I got my quite a bit lower simply by ditching some of the options I didn't want, like leather and heated seats.

That's a crap ton of money for any vehicle. With depreciation being what it is, I don't believe any new vehicle is worth the money.
