2009 Jeep unlimited-water leaks on front driver door and floorboard

I have just bought a 4 door unlimited, first the floorboard is soaked on the driver side and when you open both driver and passenger side doors water pours in from the top corner of the door. anyone with these problems?

Guys,
The first thing to learn on this forum is to put your questions on the JK side. The waterfall effect is fairly common due to the way the tops were finished at the factory and most people learn to live with it. I personally run my fingers in the channel right before I open the door so it doesn't pour on me. You will have lots of questions through the first couple of months and most have been experienced by others on the JK side. Very helpful and will prevent some trolling on this general forum side from the JK haters which you will learn to ignore

I have just taken it to the dealership for the third time today do to soaked floorboard. I dont mind a little moisture/condensation but its flooded!!They are not sure why its leaking as of yet....well see. I wished I would have gotten a softop instead of the hardtop as it pours water in when I open the door!

The soft top pours in too when you open the door in the rain. I also learned to wipe my finger along the top but when your in going out you get a little wet. Its a jeep though...so you got to love it! As for the wet floor...harsh...thats got to be frustrating! I better check mine!

I had the driver side lake effect in mine too. This was the problem, Guote from my BOL
"Found open cowl to bulkhead seam" It's fixed now. My dealership has actual
leak professionals come in to fix the leaks on their vehicals. Not sure about yours but i hope this helps.

JK Water Leak

I just purchased a new JK Sahara 4 door with the same water leak problem others seem to be having. Purchased on May 27th and right now it is at the dealership because the driver side carpeting is soaked. They can not find the problem so far. Vehicle has been there since Monday. They were kind enough to supply me with a free rental car, although this issue has me very concerned.

No problems with my '09.
I run mine through the wash all the time too.
You need to look at ALL your seals and make sure they are not folded under any brackets, etc.
There is also a TSB at the dealer for the fix for this.

My LJ does this too so I get the feeling it is just a Wrangler thing! The water always tries to aim straight for the seat so I have a wet butt showing up to work.

Have you figured it out yet?

I have the same problem and the dealership had a specialist come in and all he did was "trim" the weather stripping on the rear window. Doubt that is an issue but I went along with it and told him I would be back once I dried out the carpet and proved the back and front leaks were not related. Let me know if you ever figured it out!
Thanks

Wet driver side floor

Don't know if this is the problem. I pulled back the carpeting and the rubber drain plugs (approximately 2" x 1") may be allowing water to enter from the outside of vehicle. The plugs barely stay in the drainage holes and I suspect water gets in there. I removed the plugs and applied silicon caulk around the plugs to make sure they seal and stay in place after placing back in hole in floor. Certainly they are still removable if the vehicle floods for any reason. Also keep in mind if you run your vehicle through a car wash, many times they have under carriage sprays that blast the underside of the vehicle and which are capable of blasting out the rubber plugs allowing water to be sprayed directly through the hole in the floor and into the carpeting. My vehicle Sarah 4 door 2009. Try it. Good luck.
