2005 Unlimited Rubicon Production Numbers

Can anyone give me information about how many Unlimited Rubicon's were built between 2005-06? I was at a Chrysler dealership today looking at a 99 Wrangler on the lot, and one of the salesman came out. He was asking me about my Unlimited Rubicon and said he had never seen one of them. Then here comes another salesman, and he hadn't seen one of them either in the TJ model.

So, that got me to thinking about how many they actually made in the two years of production. My jeep was built in December 2004 according to a sticker on the inside of the door, and is equipped with a six-speed manual transmission. I know Unlimited Rubicon's began construction midway through 2004, but all of them are considered 2005 year models of that time frame.

I know my father recently purchased a left over 2007 Shelby Mustang and the production numbers in both black and white color was 6,000 - 3,000 white and 3,000 black.

I called Chrysler and was referred to three different departments in my search for the answer, but none of them could give me any information about production numbers, or where to look to find it.
I have searched the web over trying to find out the answer to this question, but have had no luck finding such an answer.

I find it frustrating that Chrysler cannot even begin to tell me how many Unlimited Rubicon's were produced in 2005-06, but they can give me the exact number of muscle cars, which were produced almost 40 years ago.

If anyone has this information, I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks and have a good weekend.

I doubt Chrysler can give you the muscle car numbers either, those figures come from dedicated enthusiasts who have invested half their lives in search of those numbers. Me, I'd rather be out driving...

I don't believe I've seen an Unlimited Rubi in person either...

I bought a '06 Red Rubi LJ in March from a private party in Beaverton. It's great! If you're ever over in Sunriver area you might see it.

aside from mine, i may have seen 1 or 2 others

there is an estimated 528,720,588 people in north america
if all of them stayed in north america that means that 1 in 41,975 people own one

i would have to assume some of them made their way around the world so that only decreases the odds
then you have to take into account how many have been destroyed in wrecks and off road mishaps

i kinda like being one of the few who has one

and if i remember correctly, i believe i read somewhere that the most uncommon model was the dual top funky green colored rubicons with gray tops

Mine is the khaki color with the dark khaki/gray top. I have seen TJ's this color, but not another Unlimited Rubicon around these parts in the 2005-06 year range that I have seen.

I've had a half dozen guys at work ask me how to find one. They all love my '05 Unlimited Rubi. The other Jeeps at the office are all TJ's, a couple CJ's, and a growing number of unscratched JK's.

For your statistics, it's an Auto, and in the Phoenix area.

I actually hated the color at first... but as soon as I saw it in person I really like it. the pics I originally saw of it did not show up how good the color looks.

I still need to get a soft top..

Congratulations on your LJ Rubi! You'll love it.

I got my soft top on Craig's list. Should come as the top wrapped around the bows/rear window bar and two boxes, one with the surrounds and the other with the three windows. I got the roll bar brackets, screws and rear tail gate brackets at JeepsRUs.

Looks like I can a factory fresh top from the dealer for $1300 otherwise I have to travel 6hrs for a used top. (3hrs out 3hrs back) . I cannot get anybody to ship one...

I read somewhere that they made 11,000 in the two years of production. which would mean they made less TJ unlimiteds than Scramblers back in the day. They originally made a total of 12,000 scramblers. As for Unlimited Rubicons i dont know but i wish i had one.

I know one person that has one around me and ive probably seen 5 others in my area ( Boston/ New England)
