Actually it is really hard to believe that #1 is out there and you have it. We all thought it was locked away at Chrysler somewhere. There were also rumors that #1 was totaled when it was brand new. Glad to hear that's not the case. Welcome to the forum and be sure to register your Jeep on the Sahara Registry page given earlier in this thread.

![]() In all honesty, it is cool to have the #0001 plaque among us. As Fargo alluded to, it has been the object of discussion around here and also at ROF. You gotta give us at least a picture of the dash plaque though. |

OK I'm sorry if you are being honest here, but I have a really hard time believing all of this. First off the fact that you got #1 is hard enough to believe. Although your story of how it happened does sound plausible. Secondly, that you got the Jeep at the ridiculously low price of $12,000 starts to sound like a big fish story. Kind of like all the stories of finding classic cars locked away in some forgotten barn somewhere. Or the 100mpg carbeurator. Thirdly, that Chrysler amidst all of its financial struggles would be offering you $100,000 to buy back your Jeep. Now I don't mean to call you a liar. I hope you are being truthful, because that does make for a great story. But you have to admit that it sounds a little outlandish, even if it is the truth. Then again on second thought, the very fact that it is so outlandish probably confirms that it IS the truth. After all, sometimes truth is stranger than fiction and you just can't make that kind of stuff up. If I were you, I would get Paramount Studios or whoever made the Sahara movie on the phone. See how much they want to give you for the Jeep. Then take that offer back to Chrysler. I admire that you would want to hang on to #1 but I don't think anyone would blame you if you sold it for $100,000. If it was me I would take the deal if they threw in a new Rubi with it. Then again maybe I would make them find a nice clean low mileage 2005-2006 LJ Rubi to throw in. If I wanted a JK I would have bought one.

#1 of a limited edition is cool and all that, but I'm not understanding the 100G's. Sahara wasn't that big of a movie and it certainly wasn't a franchise. I can't even remember the Jeep being in the movie. Guess I have to watch it again. I do remeber the boat, but not the Jeep. I don't see where it would be of that much value for Chrysler to want it back.

http://www.film.queensu.ca/CJ3B/Movie/Sahara.html It would be nice to be offered 100k for a collectors Jeep but agreed it is hard to believe, so I will reserve my opinion until RubiconSahara can respond to the questions.

I agree with that and would ad, if there is truely a 100K offer on the table, take it and run. I would have sold it on the spot. It will never, ever, be worth that to anyone else, not in 2009 and not in 2109.

The Gran Torino is a different story. A 2005 Jeep doesn't look much different from a 1975 Jeep. I guess the 100G's is a sticking point for me. It would be a no brainer to take it and buy a brand new Rubicon. I would have taken the 80G.

Well I heard back about my #603 number plate, they do not have it so mine will have to remain anonymous to the uninitiated in the ways of the Rubicon Sahara. Oh well, just a sticker. At already past 94,000 miles that wasn't gonna help on value anyway, besides, I aint sellin! LOL

Is there a stock number for our wheels? I'm just worried that I damage one and won't be able to replace it
Rubiconsahara, if you truly have the first one then I envy you and don't blame you for selling it. Keep it until you need the money really bad. |

What happened to this thread? I see number one never produced his supporting doc and it's been maybe a couple months. I'm bummed as I'm trying to purchase one that just became available and now I see the party's over. Oh well. I'll party by myself.
