Glockster - you are so awesome for finding out how to locate the Sahara #. You are saving people tons of headache. They don't even know how much of a help you are. When I first saw people trying to figure out their number I got the impression that it wasn't possible even with the VIN. But you sir are a hero who figured out how to get the info. I hope that they will let you put up the info so others can find it if your ever unavailable on the forum or if you happen to loose the number 3 years from now or something.

sahara number?
I purchased an 05 Jeep Sahara Unlimited Rubicon. It has the movie badge on the side the star and the word Sahara in gold. It doesnt have the wheel cover, tail light guard or dash plaque. I am trying to figure out what number of 1000 it is but Chrysler says the number is not available by looking up VIN. Any suggestions on how to determine the number of

![]() Your mailbox is full. Can't send a PM. - The tail light guards are nothing special, see them everywhere. - Most of the tire covers I am aware of have been purchased from e-bay. I do have a part # at home for the tire cover but the # has not been verified. Jeep will only special order it if I pay for it in full. Because it's special order it cannot be refunded, I don't want to take the chance for $150. |

Finally got a call back about the stickers.
You will need to go through your local dealer and order part# 05175335AA. (This number is verified) The dealer will do the rest. They need your VIN#. The records are available to the dealerships but it's through an outside source. Finding a helpful dealer is the challenge. The rumors have been verified. Jeep/Mopar made 2 of these stickers for each Jeep. One was installed on the dash, the other sent to a secret underground facility for safe keeping. I found the phone # for the secret facility but they're not suppose to sell to the public.Once the dealership method has been attempted and found unsuccessful, PM me. ![]() Last edited by glockster; 07-28-2009 at 12:38 PM.. |

Here is mu update regarding the dash badges. To start with I'm pasting an email I got back from the company that tracks the badges because after opening my big mouth and asking someone to help figure out how to find the replacement badges it has come full circle and bit me in the rear:
JP: As you will read below from the response I received from my contact @ Mopar who developed the limited edition Jeep Wrangler Rubicon Sahara, it would make sense to correct the error by the dealer so that everything is accurate. We can send you the number 48 badge, but as noted below, you should go back to the original selling dealer to have the matter corrected. If we can be of assistance, please advise. S: Interesting. both vehicle #2 and vehicle #48 were shipped to the same dealer. #2 was shipped on 2-25-05 and #48 was shipped on 2-28-05. Because the modification kits were shipped to the dealer separately, the dealer must have installed the plaques on the wrong vehicle. That dealer got 5 vehicles total. (and may not have paid attention when he installed any of the plaques) I would direct the owner back to his dealer. This is unfortunate, because some collectors will put a large emphasis on the series # of the vehicle. (if the number was somewhere in the middle of the build, it probably would not matter, but #2 may have some significance. I would support sending the owner the correct #48, but the current owner of #48 will need to be contacted, and his plaque switched to #2. The dealer can handle this. This action would make everything correct. The dealer was York motors in Prescott AZ. Why is the owner wanting a new plaque? He clearly has one on his Jeep. By the way, the box of parts was sent to the dealer with the intended vin printed on the box. If the owner wants further assistance, then he should contact the business center listed in the back of his owners manual. ------------------------------------------------------------------------- So after asking someone elses opinion and basically hearing how I am being selfish wanting to keep #2 which mine was sold as by the dealership, I have been in contact with the company to try and rectify the problem and asked that they decide to either update the records to reflect mine as #2 or send me the #48 badge replacement and I will contact the original selling dealership and see if it's possible to track down the owner of #2 through them. Please do not ask me for info on how to contact anyone to find out what number you have, I have my reasons for not wanting to be involved. I just wanted to update this so that others know what they may be getting into trying to find their number or seeking a replacement badge for the one they already have.

Seems like a nice Jeep for a reasonable price to me. Should I be concerned that it has been for sale for two and a half months with no buyer? Questions I should ask the dealer? This would be my first Jeep and I would have to buy it sight unseen and ship it to Texas. It is a "Certified Pre-Owned," should that give me any comfort? I appreciate any help or insight you guys can provide. |

I had almost bought one of these but had never heard of a Rubicon Sahara, it had some shoddy body work, and the dealership didn't know much about it. I passed it up, unfortunately, lesson learned.
