2004 Rubicon good first Wrangler?

Hello everyone,

I have always lusted for a TJ Rubicon Wrangler and finally found what may be considered the JEEP of my dreams.

My company does mega business with an local Ford dealership that just took in a 2004 Rubicon on trade.

It has two sets of fog lights, brush/push bar, side steps, and other accessories aftermarket. While it did come with a tinted dual top option,
the soft top is in factory sealed boxes in the back and has never been up.

The Ruby only has 16,000 miles on it, and it is in BRAND NEW condition. The previous owner traded it in for a 2008 Dually Ford F-350 for work. He is the owner of a local construction company and only drove the JEEP on the weekend.

I was on a creeper under this thing for an hour yesterday and couldn't find one scratch, mud, rust.....it is in brand new condition! I am excited to say the least. The night the JEEP was taken in, it got robbed of all five rims/tires so there is a brand new set from the factory installed as of this week. I am trying to figure out if they stole the front tow hooks?

The dealer had it on the front line for $21,000 and offered it to me for $16,500 as a business favor. Is this a good price?
They put a sold sign in the windshield after I went down and filled out the credit app. They are going to call me this afternoon with the hopefully good news. Am I making the right decision, this is a decent sized nut with the finance charges included.

Is this a good first Wrangler, I have a 1992 XJ in the driveway already and I love it to pieces. However, after test driving the Ruby for the second time, I was hooked. (I understand there is no storage space, I am used to that because I always have owned two seater sports cars). I would have to dump thousands into my Cherokee to make it halfway as decent as the Ruby.

Am I doing the right thing, I am going with my gut on this one and it says yes.

Thank you everyone,

-Danny

Sounds like a decent deal at 16.5k, but not at 21k.

yes, buy that now!!!!!!

a rubicon is the best kind of jeep you can buy if you go offroading.

if its never gonna see the dirt, then i would spend your money on a lower model for half that money, or a civic if your worried about the gas

Gas? Hahahahahaha I laugh in the face of nearly 4.50 a gallon gas here in NY.
My girl has a civic for the economy, I want the pig to be in my name...lol.
I get chills down my spine when I see a Rubi drive by....stock form..rocks me.

Everything in NY is overpriced and we pay the 8.625% sales tax to boot!
That is an extra $1,423.13 over the sticker. Atleast the 7/70 Powertrain comes with it at a premium of $100 to transfer it per the dealer.

I am hyped up about this and feel it is the right thing to do.

Thank you everyone,

-Danny

Good first Wrangler? Heck this could be a good last Wrangler. Take good care of it and you may never need another. As for the price, I didn't take the time to check the KB value...I'll leave that up to you.

It sounds to me like you have already made your decision anyway...enjoy your new RUBI!

I would never buy it. Then again I rather dump thousands into a vehicle then buy a good one. I think I have something wrong with me. It is a great deal though!

Wow, that sounds like a find! I saw an '05 Rubi at a Ford dealer near me. It also had low milage and had never been off-road.

Good luck, and I hope it works you. You'll love it.
