2 Door vs 4 Door (considering change)

I currently have a 2 door Wrangler. My wife said she would like to have the additional room the 4 door offers, and the 2 door Wrangler makes her feel nauseous as it's "bumpy" and "small". I'm fine with the 2 door and make what I feel is a valid argument not to make a move to a 4 door. However, I would like some objective opinions. IMO, I don't think the 2 additional small doors merits committing to a new Jeep (and new payments). Also, I don't think riding in the front seat of the 4 door vs the 2 door will feel any different. Has anyone here gone from a 2 door to a 4 door? I realize there's a little more room, but is it really that much more? I keep getting the "if we want to go on a family road trip" argument. I don't think a Jeep 2 or 4 door is really that kind of a "road trip" vehicle. If we want to go on a road trip, we can always purchase one of those platforms to attach to the trailer hitch. Maybe I'm wrong. That's why I'm looking for opinions from some of you.

This is truly that much more room. Sounds like you don't have passengers in the back seat (if you did, the cargo room would be 10x), but the cargo room is probably an additional 80%. The 4 door does ride a LOT better than the 2 door. A friend of mine's boyfriend had a 2 door, and wouldn't ride with him, she'd ride with us in the 4 door because of that fact.

I considered it one time, and that was the last time. Took awhile for my cheek to get its feeling back.

I'm going to replace the JK with a JKU at some point, just haven't found the one I want to give up my current jeep for yet.

I just picked up a 2014 JKU Sahara in the Copperhead Pearlcoat. I added backup camera and Bluetooth over the weekend. I'm bragging cause I dig it. A fun weekend vehicle. I initially considered the 2 door but glad I went with the 4. With back seats down, cargo area very large and I've had 5 in the vehicle very comfortably. Even with backseat up, the cargo area is big - even larger than my Escalade with the third row up. I found the JKU has more available options too - or at least easier to find cool color and options on the JKU vs JK. Definitely a better vacation vehicle because of the large cargo area and roominess. You'd do good to get the JKU and, besides, you don't have a choice
