'12 Rubicon vs. '13 10A Rubicon

I bought a black brand new 2012 JKR in March. I hadnt seen the 10A Rubicon's yet. Now, I wish I had purchased a 10A 2013.

My current balance is $23,000 on my loan through Jeep. The sticker on my 2012 JKR was $40,000. It has every option, including leather, 730N nav, remote start, auto heat/cool and the dual top.

Do you think a dealer would help me get into a 10A for a decent price?

when I looked the 10a had a 5k uplift in price over my loaded 13 Rubi, then add the hit you'll take on depreciation and it will be painful. If that pain is worth it to you, only you can answer.

I fits something you want, talk to the dealer, and see if you can work something out you can live with. In the end, its a decision only you can justify.

I traded in a black 2012 JKU Sahara and got 30k trade in for it on a new 2013 JKU Rubicon. I did not get the 10th anniversary edition (because I wanted the dune color) and I negotiated them down 5k on it. I say get what you want. I did.

If I can get in one at the right price, I will.

The hood is pretty cool, but not sure it's worth the cost. Totally up to you though.

Btw, I wanted to post a pic of this hood for all to see, but apparently the file size is too large. Maybe the development team for this forum could integrate an automatic down sizing feature when uploading a file.. hint hint.

Yeah, even though I was joking about the hood, it is pretty cool. Integrated hood vents ftw! I saw a couple of 10a's at my local dealer, I thought they looked pretty sharp. Price is a bit steep though

Interweb Photos. Not mine.

It's a limited edition Rubicon with a vented hood for heat reduction, a full width bumper with removable end caps to make it a stubby.

to the OP: You will definitely lose money on the deal. How much will depend on your negotiations skills. If it's acceptable then go for it. The worse thing that could happen is that you figure you can't take the deal and you end up with your 2012.

Remember dealers are there for two reasons only, and that is to make lots of money on peoples trade ins and even more on new jeeps.
So be prepared to take it in the shorts...but it if its what you "need" and have the cash to give them.. then go for it.
