Never heard of it. I'm sure it's a generic Chinese winch. It is a series wound motor (which is good) but I wouldn't take a chance. You'll never get parts for it if you ever need them.

Superwinch makes some great affordable winches and have amazing customer service & warranties.

Just get the XRC8 or 10 smittybuilt winch. I have the XRC8 which is 8,000lbs capacity and I love it to death. Only $300 shipped and is better than a Warn in my opinion!

The generation 1 does have a permanent 4.1hp. Smittybuilt upped their game and came out with the new 5.5hp series wound motor for the XRC8 and 10 winch. Both have the same motor and everything, just different gears for the different capacities.

Here is my XRC8 generation 2 installed on my 1998TJ Sahara. I made my own winch plate to mount it out of 1/4" thick C-channel cut down.

Here are the XRC8 generation 2 specs:
Rated Line Pull: 8000Lbs (3630kgs)
single-lineMotor: 5.5hp Series WoundControl
: Remote Switch, 12' (3.7m) lead
Gear Train: 3-Stage Planetary
Gear Ratio: 172.8:1
Clutch: Rotating Ring Gear
Brake: Automatic In-The-Drum
Drum Size: Diameter 2.5 (63.5mm)
Length8.75 (222mm)
Wire Rope: 94' 5/16 Diameter (28m, 8.2mm Diameter)

BRINGING LIFE TO A OLD THREAD..
i just got the tuff stuff 12,500 lb winch and it looks better than harbor freights lol....it comes with a few extras but you have to fab up a fairlead mount for it..it has a 6.65 hp motor thats series wound and they gave me a 3 yr warranty..it looks very similar to smittybilt winch so im sure its made in china also..but hopefully i will get my moneys worth from it..it was 279.00 and 100 for shiping..for smittybits 8000lb winch for 300 i figured id try the 12,500 for the little extra mulla..time will tell..

Due to his lack of response I am assuming it does not work and he is stuck in the woods.

not sure if your talkin bout my 12,500 tuff stuff or not but it has payed for itself 2-3 times imho..the hot wire near the winch has a lil melted area on the coating but other than that the abuse ive put it thru a few times has payed for it.
a while back did a 300 ft winch, hook and winch out of a quarry and went well,,done it a couple more times with no help from the jeep since the walls were very steep and not climbable, and the winch got me home..i have a bad habit of going down things i cant get back up lol

Hey man, I've had this winch for about a year now and it has saved me a million times. I was also iffy about it but its an offbrand of xrc so I believe. The cons about it that I have ran into is have the power motor on top of the roller it will get messed up with your in the woods wheelin rolling the winch up not taking time to line the cable up, the cable will just hit the top of it and mess it up. But thats not a big deal, and the stickers on them fade quick and peal and the rollers fade too, just common. ANYWAYS the winch is strong, never failed me, and Ive used it at least a good 20 times. With the cable out to the redline.

by far the best thing ever...

I have been looking into winches now since my harbor freight "9000" burnt up on me and i have found that tuff stuff does have parts that you can order, i.e. motor, gear box, remote control, and other accessories, when it comes to winches usage, the tuff stuff 12,500 lifted a f-250 super duty 6 feet off the ground with one pulley and a 60,000 lbs strap from pep boys.
