is it worth it?

1999 jeep cherokee sport 2 door
4.0l inline 6
5 speed manual transmission
201,482 miles
very basic

power windows and locks are about as high end as it gets on this one, but i dont need anything more than the basics so im really considering trading in my 96 sebring convertible for this cherokee.

the dealer is asking $4,000 for it and kbb value is $4,300. the value of my car is $4,500 but trade-in value on kbb is $3,425.

so my question is as the title says, good deal? no rust and two tiny dents and thats it as far as damage goes.

any input appreciated

thanks

hmm....miles sound kind of high for the price, i got my 97 two years ago with 90K on it, auto, no rust (from a private party though), many new parts and pretty much EVERY option as far as I know for $4,500

well it's up to you, and if it's been well maintained it may be fine, but I'd look around a bit more personally. Don't get attached (at least try! I'll be looking at one tomorrow and doing the same thing!) and there's some decent deals around if you look enough (these were found in 30 seconds on craigslist)

If it sounds like a good deal to you then it's a good deal. But Cherokee is a Jeep and you all like Jeeps.

right on, let us know how it goes. Just remember - lots of mods often = lots of wheeling by the previous owner, so be sure to check for repairs / damage

yeah my dad is really against that one. plus thats an 89 which was before the double galvanized body so rust is a big enemy. the jeep im looking at today had one owner so i hope its a good one!

im leaving in a little bit to go look at it..
