What do you think of this YJ?

1988 Jeep Wrangler - Pittsboro Motors, Inc. Pittsboro, NC

Its got no back seat, strange looking front seats, no tire carrier on the back.

Looks Good

Looks like a good builder Jeep to me. Tire carries on the tailgate are no good if you go to bigger tires anyway. appears to have a Weber Carb installed (great upgrade). depends on really what your looking to do with it.

$3500 MAX and that is because from what I see the body is in good shape.

Oh and it doesn't have mirrors LOL.

Yeah, 4.0's have MPI, not the carb so I would definitely figure out the engine. The stock leaf springs also look flat as flat gets so you might want to consider future upgrades and how much they'll run you. I'm not sure how different prices are down there but I just bought an 87 in Long Island NY. It either has the 4.0 head or full engine swap but either way it has fuel injection instead of the carb. There are some brake issues (which I think I've figured out was just a bleeding issue) and steering is a little sloppy and 4wd disconnected. But only 100,000 on the odometer and I got it for $1000 from a private seller 2 weeks ago. I did a ton of looking on craigslist and that seems really steep for what I saw from NY down to VA. If you have the cash try to stay away from dealers, it's never worth what they say. One thing I learned was to be patient and not jump on something just to be done shopping...even though it can start to suck! Try Search Tempest - The EASY way to search Craigslist! it lets you check all of the craigslists within your chosen mile radius. Makes life a little easier.

Price seems a little high. Take your time and when you find the one you want you will know it.
