What is a '84 CJ7 in good original shape worth?

Looking for a good used CJ7 and found an 84 that has less than 100k original miles, original paint, automatic and IL6. Everything looks good around the whole jeep, inside, under, only soft tops and it does have the steel doors.

He is asking $8500, i think he said he would break even about $7800. I feel that's a little high, although i have seen many more advertised for higher than that...maybe i don't want to spend too many extra $$ for the toy until after i get it. Clean TX jeep.

Any thoughts/opinions?

Thanks!

autotrader has them in the midwest, early 80s, same condition as yours, and they are between 12-20K. 8500 is probably not bad if it's really in good shape.
