used warn m8000 winch

i have a chance at buying a 2yr/old m8000 and mouning frame for my 06 for $475. Never bought a winch before. Any hints or opinions on what to look for or if this is as good of a deal as I think. Winch looks to be in very good shape.

In my opinion, that's WAY too much money for a 2 year old used M8000. You can get a new one for around $500 at a lot of places. Amazon's got it for $540 and you get the warranty with it.

For less, you might want to check out the Superwinch

keep in mind that the mount is 238 on 4wd.com and it is included as well as two 10klbs recovery hooks. Not that I need them but could always sell afterwards. still think i should keep looking?

There is no need for a $200 winch mount. Just about any cheaper universal mount will work. You're getting no warranty support at all and as mentioned, they sell for... well, I can't say our price, but check out the site because it's close to what you'd be paying.

And we blow the Amazon price out of the water on the Superwinch linked. Check out the vendor section.

What a great deal on that Superwinch! I wasn't planning on getting a winch just yet, but that price is awesome! Things to think about...
