Trying to decide if I want to buy a 1998 Cherokee Sport

I'm looking at this 98 Jeep Cherokee that is for sale and was looking or any tips from Jeep owners. Anything to look for specifically? Owner is selling it for $3900. These are the details on the rig...

Doesn't look terribly beat... I'd go for it. Not sure how many were manual transmissions, but I believe it's uncommon.

Not too many 97+ were manuals, and even less so 2 doors. Seems to be in pretty good shape, although as with all used cars, make sure you give it a pretty thorough check.

Will do for sure. Hey do you or anyone know the towing weight timit for this XJ? I read 2000 lbs in one place and then 5000 lbs in another place. If I need to tow something I just want to know how much she can pull! Thank you

The towing capacity of an xj is 5000lbs and remember, there is a 500lb max tongue weight (10% max towing amount)

id say its a good deal at that price if it checks out mechanically. Also, take a look underneath for rust.
