What precious things are you keeping your jeep! Right now I have 1 seat and center console nothing else! Not even an e-brake! There is nothing they can steal. I would suggest you do the same. (besides the seat thing)

If I can get there I can wheel it!

I have books and school stuff that would have to go there. Textbooks are freaking expensive!

Who says I'm in college? High school textbooks are plenty expensive too.

You bring them home? Mine never left my locker. And really who is going to steal text books. I do not think there is a big demand for them on the black-market! Also if you are in high-school why are you up at 1 am? The latest I ever stayed up was 11. Stop worrying about the little thing and live life to the fullest!

If stolen, you must pay for them which is costly, which I believe is what he is saying. Anyways, why do you need to worry about that during the summer?
Listen, you need to relax, live life as it goes and dont worry so much. If you want a TJ/YJ, get one and have fun with it. I bought my XJ so I could have fun, not so I could worry about people breaking into it. Why exactly do you want a Jeep again?

It's worth a shot - most sellers go a little high knowing that the buyer wants to always go lower. Try it out - 6k would be great and save cash for your own mods.

Yeah, one is being sold by a dealer, the other private. I think I might be able to low ball the private guy and raise it up to 6K, but I doubt I could pull that on a dealership. Worth a try though. The worst that can happen is I walk off the lot without a car.

I did not know 98's had a 6 speed It never hurts to try though.

I just did a quick craigslist search of the Dallas Fort worth area (as far as I can tell that is your location) and WOW those prices are tons higher than my area!!!!
Here are 2 identical jeeps besides some small things in both areas They where both listed a while ago and the prices are over a grand off:

If I can get there I can wheel it!

I Looked at those and I didn't like them. Too many miles and the black one has too many problems.

i have good news though! i just talked to my Dad and he is willing to loan me a bit more than I thought. My new price is about 7K. This should be much easier to work with.

Are you going to calm down a bit? They only have 130,000 miles on them!

That one is a no go, and so is the red one I was looking at earlier. The black one was already sold, and the red one was all torn up and nasty on the inside. If the interior was only a little trashed I would have bought it, but it was trashed.
