That reminds me of when my buddy bought a used nissan a couple years back and the dealer tried to charge him 50 bucks for mudflaps that were already on it. He was pissed.

Where do you guys look for used Wranglers? I've been searching eBay, AutoTrader and Craigslist. All I've found are a bunch of dreamers.

I bought my TJ 4 days ago with 57k miles, 6 cylinder engine, manual transmission, and air conditioning for $9,400. I looked everywhere and this jeep was an awesome deal. I got everything I wanted.

I found mine on cars.com. Also, check the websites of some of your local dealers.

Was trying to buy a Bronco II back in the day that was three years old. I had told my wife I wasn't paying more than $8400. The dealer said $8417. I said, no, it's $8400. He said "you mean you'll loose this deal over $17", to which I replied, "you mean yooouuuu'll lose this deal over $17". That took 30 minutes. The way I see it that was $34 dollars an hour, and back in 1987 that was good money.

I bouht my 2006 Rubicon last year with 18400 on it. They were asking $22900 and I was able to bargain them down to $20K even in three hours and after that I took the Rubicon for a half a day test drive and independent mechanic inspection. Even after that I waited an entire weekend to think about it. It came with auto dimm mirror, six CD changer and sirius radio with soft top. It only came with one key so had to spend $80 at stealership to get another key made and reprogram the system so the old lost keys wont work on the Jeep anymore.

always haggle, ..like someone else said the worst they say is no. As far as research and pricing with dealers. Isn't the 'Black Book' the standard for auto dealers & finance companies? There is edmunds', KBB (kelly blue book), consumer reports, msn autos & a lot of automotive publications. The list goes on and on it seems...
Some dealers say they use KBB, it may even say it on the window of the used vehicle but ultimately I thought the Black Book was it for dealers. I would like to hear some other opinions as well on this...

Wranglers always fetch a premium this time of year in my area. The ultimate is when you can find a private party seller who is not a jeep enthusiast and doesn't realize people "pay up" for wranglers. That is where you can score a nice deal imo. Deals always seem better in the fall/winter on Wranglers...

Did you get it!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!

But anyways I looked every where. I think you get the best deals on unadvertised vehicles, the ones you find on the side of the road with a for sale sign. I found mine on craigslist. The lady I bought it from had bought an 07 JK 4 door and needed to get rid of this one. There was a sign in the window $5000 but i got it for $3500 which is what she had listed on line.

If I can get there I can wheel it!

I'm working on a classifieds startup now that may help you find used cars. (www.easyautosales.com)

Right now we have almost a million cars but in the coming weeks, we are looking to get more private sellers, (hopefully jeep sellers) to break the million vehicle mark. It's definitely worth checking out though.

Three days ago I bought mine. It is a 04 Wrangler X with Auto transmission, brand new black wheels, 31" BFG AT KO, KC light bar, factory NAV, alarm. I love it. With 23,000 miles. It was priced at 17,900 at a local chevy dealership and I haggled down to 14,200.00. I found it on Cars.com and yes it was definitely worth haggling over.

I would deff. haggle on price. I picked up my 97 TJ 2.5 5 speed lifted w/33 Mickey Thompsons w/ 119,000 miles all for a straight trade for a ragged out 86 fullsize Bronco. They said no to which I replied I'll throw in a full tank of gas. Deal done but it needed a starter and the Bronco was road ready. All in all I made out in the end.

I think most wranglers still go for quite a lot of buck even with 100,000+ miles. When I got my 99 TJ last May, I paid 7,300 after tax & title. 4L, 6-cylinder Sport, in Chili Pepper Red. It came with a hardtop, heated leather seats, and was practically mint, and had 147,000 miles. The undercarriage was absolutely perfect, like it was never driven in the winter. The Jeep still drives amazingly smooth, especially after switching to Synthetic motor oil. I love it!

I search autotrader.ca up here but find any really good deals are snapped up FAST so I monitor the site daily. Craigslist and Kijiji are ok and I sometimes look on eBay but that isn't very localized for Canada.

Also the local paper(s) but I find now that print ad can be really stale and many folks post an ad online as well so the Jeep might be gone before the ad even runs.
