Sahara Advice

New to forum....

Currently Own a 2002 Wrangler Sport with 33's on a 4 inch with manual.. Love it.

Thinking about Buying a Sahara.. New. 2011
Found what I like it has 3.73 gears. but auto trans is all I can seem to find...

Here is my wants to do with this vehicle. I look to you guys for advice.
Slight off road nothing crazy..
90% of miles on highway..
Long trips towing my small motor cycle trailer (1000lbs.)
Daily driver
I would like to add
Offroad bumpers
33's or better tires all terrain
3" lift
Chip, if I find one that really works
Air improvement system.

My question.. I have never owned an automatic jeep... kinda scares me to consider an auto for fear up sized tires and more air drag will dog the motor with only 4 speeds to play with.

My problem.. Cant seem to find the Sahara I want with Stick...
Now deciding if I really want to do this.. I really don't want to change GR on a brand new jeep. and do not want a dog..

Please advise..

Dont know if you are aware, the new 2012 will have a new motor 3.6 apprx 285 hp.. as opposed to the 2011 @ 202 hp You can order one now and get a 6spd stick in it as well. They are starting to build them july 18th. Be one of the first to be driving the 2012.

Inquire about the Thread Lightly program it costs $60 to be in the program, You buy a new vechile 1% under invoice, no haggiling involved

Happy Shopping !!!

If you have the money I would really wait for the 2012s and have it built the way you want. I don't think I would pay the premium for a Sahara for the appearance package, I would just get a well optioned sport unless you really love the look of the Sahara.

Ok, here is what I did.....
Got a 2011 Ulim Rubicon with 6 speed.
Night and day diff on auto versus 6 speed. The 6 speed wakes up the motor and they have really made manuals very nice.
Now......
Went with new bumpers XRc I think...
Looking at rims and tires.
I think I want 33's instead of 35's ( advice appreciated)
Looking at 4 inch pro comp stage II lift ( advice)
Or, may just leave it low for a bit.

Jeep handles great... Got the 7 year 100 k extended warr bump to bump. Great price on the new car at 34k loaded.

60 miles so far,, love it. Insurance was cheap too 380 for 6 mos.
