I guess it depends on what your needs/plans are.

For a daily driver where reliability is required, IMO, 16 yrs and 210k miles is not an option.

But for a weekend toy or hobby vehicle, I could see it. Many people spend many more $$$ for toys and hobbies.

Understand that it is going to have a lot of wear and tear, so you may want to set a budget as to how nice you want it. But if the plans are hunting, fishing, camping, things like a worn interior, may be OK. But to dress up in formal cloths and go to a friends wedding, maybe not.

^^^^^

Exactly.

There are tons and tons of these things floating around out there. I wouldn't think about buying one until I had looked at and had driven at least several. I don't see buying a SUV under the "toys and hobbies" heading, but to each their own.

Other questions arise. Do you have a place to store it? It is going to need work. It is going to need work often. Do you have the tools and expertise to keep it running? Do you have a place to do the work.

I was going to use it as snow/woods hobby truck. I do have a driveway to keep it, and hopes it lasts a little longer before major repairs are needed. Also i heard about shotty trans this year jeep any insight on that.
