please help out a jeep noob here
Well I'm looking at picking up an 88 Comanche, that's MJ right?
very clean looking on the body, underbody and interior. 147k miles. 4.0, MT, rwd. heater worked great. needs some tires replaced and some bulbs, big deal.. 1500 negotiable, what you all think? thanks not sure if this is in right section please move if so

If you like working on your rig then go for it. Offer them less and get a better deal to use the money for your first mod.

Not bad, not a 1500 truck, IMO. Lots less work than the 2wd I bought, but I paid $500. Not more than $1000, thats pushing it, but you'd have a handy little truck. I'm thinking Peuogot tranny, make sure it shifts good. Check the floorboards .

my recent experience with mj's is that they are pretty worthless offroad and in the snow w/o 4wd, there is no weight in the back so the tires just spin. If you got this pickup i would plan on it just being a dd in dry conditions.

If you can get them fixed up and running, you'll have a relatively rare Jeep.
