noob with a question

A friend of mine has 2 jeeps he want to get rid of one is 1940's jeep (ford) military that runs but the head was takin off a couple of weeks ago for some tune up work but was never finished and late 60's early 70s wrangler with no body he told me to make him an offer, I want to restore the military jeep and make the other a trail and hunting buggy so what should I offer him? I will put some pics in the next couple of days

thanks

$2000 would be reasonable for the 40s military jeep and 500 to 800 for the other jeep with no body if it the drive train, frame, suspension, etc is good.
