no more charcoal gray

I just got back saturday to try an order my new rubicon. I was not allowed the charcoal gray . I was told it was officially discontinued for retail . You can only get in a fleet order(large orders for cities). I visited three more jeep dealers and was told the same thing. I was also not allowed the loyalty rebate. It too was discontinued. I am totally disgusted with this. I have loved jeeps all my life but it looks like the car industry in America relly doesn't want to sell vehicles that bad. The first dealership is going to try and order it for me as a fleet then change it to retail when it gets here but he told me not to get my hopes up.

The Jeep website still shows the dark charcoal pearl as an available color for 2010. Maybe it is just on restriction for a while? Seems like if they have it for fleet they could have it available for retail sales.

Rebates/incentives are always for a limited time and can be based on location and date of purchase and model. For me, all there is on a 2010 Rubicon right now is $750 customer cash.

Manufactures do not allow fleet orders to be sold as retail units, due to the difference in dealer invoice pricing, but I suppose and long as the dealer reported the status change from fleet to retail, Chrysler LLC may be OK with the change.
You can use the vehicle locator to try to find what you want on the jeep.com website. Who knows, maybe some dealer in your area has what you want in stock.

Good luck on your purchase.

Griff, If you don't mind traveling to pick up your jeep you might try some dealers in Texas. I called Huffines in Dallas - they were very helpful, not pushy, but great offer. However, MacHaik Dodge Chrysler Jeep in Houston beat them by $1,000 - both were really easy to work with. I think the person who was very helpful with Huffines in Dallas was Bud Johnson and the person at MacHaik is Jon-Eric McDonald. Don't know if this will help, but it may be worth a phone call. BTW I just got my charcoal gray new jeep yesterday - love it! Good luck.

Thanks for the offer. The dealership is going to let me know by tomorrow if they can order that color. I sure hope it goes through. I am curious if anyone else has had this problem. I was told by three different dealerships that dark charcoal gray was discontinued for retail on 11-11-09. Fleet model only after that date

Griffo, hope it works out. I live in the DFW Area and had to go to Brian Harris Jeep in Baton Rogue. They are incredible! I was looking for Natural Green Pearl Sahara, with Nav, and Kahki Soft Top and Interior. They got it done...before anyone! Hope it works out for ya!!!!

Good News! The jeep was ordered Friday as a fleet model to get the gray. Lets see how long it will take to get in.

Order went through and i got a vin #. Still had to be ordered as a fleet . The jeep dealership said that jeep quit taking any orders for Charcoal gray as of 11-12-09. They were filling all orders already taken. My rubicon should be in by early Jan.
