Looking to purchase 2005-2007 Grand Cherokee
Alright everyone you've helped me in the past with my XJ now I'm looking for advice on purchasing a Grand Cherokee.
My only request is that I would like adive on ones that have the 4.7L V8. I will need to tow a Coleman Bayside trailer and a trailer for my Scout troop. Both run in the 2700-3000lb weight range. So let know what you think when it comes to these two model year Grands. Thanks, Chris

Well if you are into off roading at all you aren't going to be happy with the IFS on the 05+ GC. If you enjoy off roading I would look at a 99-05 GC. But the 4.7L is a good engine is all years that I am aware of.

Actually, RougeSpear2023, off-roading won't be an issue. The new Jeep will see very little real off road action. Other than dirt/gravel roads, campgrounds and corn fields this Jeep will be on the road most of the time. Oh, and snow! Just like the previous Jeep XJ this will be my Wife's baby and treated accordingly. Our current 2000 XJ looks almost brand new and runs like new. The new Jeep will be required to do towing, which was limited on the XJ. The XJ didn't get a trailer hitch until it had 140K, not exactly the time to start towing, but it handled it. I just never felt real confident and always felt like I was stressing it out! That's why we are looking at the Grand with the 4.7L V8. I just wanted to see what kind thoughts all of you had on the 05-06' GC. We know next to nothing and have just started the research on this Jeep. Thanks
