Looking for a 4 door JK, need advice

I am new to CO and am back in the market for a Wrangler. I had a 99 Sahara for years back in Illinois and loved it. Now I want more cargo space so I'm considering the 4 door JK rubicon. For the most part I know what I'm after. I had a 3" teraflex lift on my sahara which I liked aside from how sluggish the Jeep was in the hills. The Jeep I'm looking at now has a 2" lift and sits on 33" tires. My one concern is driving up the mountain on the weekends. The lifted 2011 ruby seemed to have to work really hard to maintain speed up the hill. My question is, would buying something with the new motor be a noticeable difference? Either way I intend to have a smaller suspension lift and 33" or 35" tires.
