looking at a 2007 Wrangler Sahara

Sahara edition, silver, 15k miles, $19,999, looks pretty loaded. Freedom Hard top, bluetooth, lot of goodies. Price seems pretty good when i compare to other 2007 Jeeps... most of which are "X" version anyway.

good deal?

theyre pretty firm at 19,999 and i can understand why. the retail is 25k+, and its even below private party. its a good deal, but i just cant do it right now. i have to pay off my GTI first. The JK's have grown on me, especially the 3 piece hardtops...

i would think that is a fair price but maybe even another $500 off. you could get an 06 rubicon for that money or less so.....

if you're a jk fan though then i guess it's ok

no, they didnt remove it. they probably got flagged. it seems too cheap. lol.

there is a 2006 rubicon advertied same price. but 43k miles and no hard top..

another 2006 rubicon has same 43k miles but $2000 higher.. (w hard top)

i want the JK for the freedom hard top, and the 6 speed manual. at first i hated the JK look. But its grown on it, especially the Sahara with the painted fenders. Looks much better.

went and saw this JK today. and drove it. Pretty interesting coming from a TJ and a 1993 to make some comparisons. All these posts about death wobble on perfectly stock JK Jeeps also has me a bit worried. Tho this car felt flawless. (at 16k miles).

Freedom roof is killer, obviously. Best of both worlds.

Manual trans was geared a bit weird. 1rst was pretty short as people have said, and 5th and 6th were barely needed when power is required. Just stayed in 4th on freeway up till at least 65-70. Felt the big power loss when I switched to 5th. That being said, the tranny shifted like butter and was super easy to shift.

The tweeters on the dash look pretty stupid, but i bet it sounds pretty awesome. I prefered the subwoofer up front between the seats, rather than way back in trunk. Bad separation.

Power from the engine felt pretty good, aside from the weird gearing. I didnt feel like it was "slow".

**************

The only reason I didnt decide to buy it today, was my trade in value. (A common issue for everyone). I wanted about $18k for my (2009 GTI 4DR DSG Sunroof SIRIUS 18" Huffs) with 13k miles, and the best he could do is $16k. I was already gonna eat $4k off my payoff and I just couldnt make that $6k.. I liked it a lot tho. Wish I could buy it.

(he raised his trade-in payout to 17k, up $1000. i had to bite.)

i drove this 2007 jeep home today. its incredible. stereo is excellent, cant believe how smooth it drives. def less bouncy then the TJs. no problem with gearing on the manual. easily stayed at 75mph up steep hills in 5th.

i gotta figure out if this thing has satellite radio, i didnt see a button. if it doesnt, i gotta add it.

I think this has the towing package, thus it would have 4.10 gearing. no wonder i dont have any problem with the power..

doesnt have bluetooth tho, i thought it did. i guess its missing the "Uconnect" module or something..

Look at that as a good reason to go to a nice double din headunit with everything you want.

Nice looking Sahara. Silver really looks great on the JKs imo.

i have had the fronts off all weekend. its best of both worlds for me. freedom. i will have the tops on for my bridge commute during the week, and can take them off on weekends to have fun.

I stripped off all the previous owners junk... all those stickers you can see on the exterior.. just film type, came off in 2 seconds.. removed an additional rear view mirror which was clipped on over the original one.. removed mini wideview mirrors which were stuck to the side mirrors.. removed air fresheners hanging from the gearshifts.. found a dime under the drivers seat. and i dont mean a dime sack. lol.

congrats on the purchase. looks nice. i do like the freedom tops on the JK. you might find yourself wanting to just strip the hard top completely though, as well as the doors. fwiw, you can get aftermarket hard tops for TJs that open in sections too if you want to fork out the money.
