Liberty or XJ

I am shopping for a used jeep. I have narrowed it to 1997 to 2001 cherokee or a 2004 to 2005 liberty. I am looking for a reliable daily driver and something I can take offroad to my hunting spot. Having a tough time choosing. I like the liberty for the spare tire mount and the overall look of it. Prices are a little higher than for the cherokee but most I have seen have less miles than the cherokee. I will be adding a lift kit to whichever I buy. I like the overall look of the cherokee and the aftermarket support is great.
So what would you choose? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

XJs rule. I would go Cherokee. Everyone I know that drives a liberty is a woman. Just saying.

A Liberty is nowhere near as good offroad as a Cherokee. If you plan on offroad, you should really be looking at the Cherokee. Not sure on this, but I would assume that lifts for the Cherokee are cheaper than for the Liberty, not to mention much easier to come by.

Cherokee parts are a dime a dozen too, so your more likly to find what you need walking into an autozone or junkyard, and prices will be cheaper. Tough to beat the suspension setups on the cherokee too. You could find yourself a really nice Limited cherokee in a 2000-2001 flavor and it would be ALMOST as nice (or AS nice, depending on how you look at it).

I have been leaning toward the cherokee but I do like the 04 liberty. Keep the comments coming.

Thanks
