Jeep Wrangler TJ for $450

Okay, some may not belive this but i found a TJ on craigslist a guy was parting out. it had the 2.5, Auto trans, and unknown T/C. I called the guy and he said most of it is gone. but it still had the Tub, Frame, Front Clip, windshild,Wheels and tires. I asked if hed sell the complete jeep. he said yes. i told him to name a price. he said $450 dollars. I was shoocked. He also said it was parked due to severe rust but ran and drove until the engine was sold. I am pretty good at fixing rust and alot of other stuff so i should be able to put in a 4.0 and get it road worthy pretty cheap thanks to the local scrapyard.

I think the Coil suspension is worth $450. And it has Black steel rims.

There is only one problem: its a 12 Hour round trip not including loadin the thing.

So should i buy or not.

By the time you fix it and put it back together i doubt it would be a good deal since i've seen several in 3k dollar range running driving and without rust!

No way. Don't do it. Buy something closer and with a 4.0. Any money u save now will be wasted bringing it home. Save yourself the time and grief and find a non rotted and still running one closer to home for your build up.

HAHAHAHAHA i wonder if they actually think they are getting people to buy their stuff by doing this

I would personally pass, it may be cheap but if he parked it due to the rust then i would think it is beyond repair. For the little (if any gain) you could get out of it, it just wouldnt be worth the time imo. I always find myself buying stuff that i see as a great deal, then it turns out it was a ok deal and i wasnt going to get much out of it and just wasted my time

Absolutely wouldn't be worth it. The amount of frustration you'd go through with a half-in-existance Jeep that's rusted would NOT be worth what you'd get out of it. Hold out for the right one.
