Jeep Cherokee Sport

I am thinking about buying a Jeep cherokee sport, most likely years 1999 or 2000. Are there any chronic problems specifically with the year and make of this particular jeep that I should look out for?

I would look for one in the 97-99 year range, those were the last years of the HP D30 front. Also in 2000 is when I believe they changed the exhaust manifold and ran into cracking issues.

for the 97-99 makes, is the body more durable than any older or newer models? I was hearing that the bodies on the cherokee sports are VERY tough..

so how much would it cost to repair a cracked exhaust manifold, and would it be a reoccurring problem i would have to fix constantly?

Used to have a 2000 Cherokee Classic, lifted, tire on the roof and brush guard on front... I miss it.

So what's the difference between the Jeep Cherokee Sport and the Jeep Cherokee Classic?

all cherokees are the same. What comes after is a trim package. so a sport is basic, limited nice larado is loaded. Figure out what options you want and go from there. the 2000 and 2001 have a coil over plug ignition system. and the body is stronger due to a sheetmetal redesign to omit noise and vibration.

The Classic Vs the Sport one thing I know of is that the bumpers are painted the same color as the body (classic). If that is something that concerns you.
