How much: 2009 JK X stock
I'm eyeing a 2009 JK X, stock except for the options of A/C and Deep Water Blue paint. Here is the window sticker: http://www.jeep.com/hostc/getWindowStickerPdf.do?vin=1J4FA24169L729647
MSRP is $22,330 Edmunds TMV is $19,810 The dealer has about 10 Wranglers on the lot in various colors/models. And has two of this EXACT Wrangler. What do you guys think is a fair price? FYI, there is a 2009 JK X w/ S package and hardtop going for $21300 at another dealer. I'm tempted by this, but it's green and I'm not sold on the green. Oh, and this is in the Kansas City area.

No thoughts on the price? I'm thinking of going in at 17500 with 18500 as my max.

Sounds reasonable to me, i am in the same boat with the local dealers asking 4-5000 over what the TMV and suck say its worth... its a crap shoot as far as i am concerned..
just like everyone around here will tell you.. its a wrangler.. and jeep knows that wrangler buyers are buying it for what it is. Supply is dwindling and demand is mounting so its a sellers market as far as wrangler goes right now. If you are not sold on a 2009 model you may be able to pick up a used 2008 model for less then that, but you would have to pay for the lifetime added warrentee stuff that the new one would come with. Its confusing and frustrating as far as Im concerned. But i think if you bring in the print outs of what things are worth and show you did your research, it shouldnt be to hard to argue up from your offer, rather then down from their inflated offer.. |

I work at a Jeep Dealership in South Carolina and I can tell you this much. If you are looking at a Wrangler with an MSRP of 22000 and are able to get it for less than 19000 that would be a heck of a deal. Since the factories aren't building any Wranglers right now and the supply of vehicles out there is getting low, Chrysler has taken away all of the rebates. Your best way to get a good deal is ask to see the invoice for the one you are looking at and look for the cost, should be around 20000 then subtract the HB. Just a little advice. Good luck.

Thanks for the advice. What is the HB usually on a stock Wrangler X like this?

got my 2009 unlimited x at the end of march for 17,600. they were dealing then and even threw in 2 $500 dealer coupons ($1000) to help sweeten the deal, since i got up to leave once. Dont think they are dealing quite as well now, but they have to sell the jeeps they have to get the new ones that they will be building soon!

Went in just now and got them down to 18750 for the X, which was okay to me. But then they tried to completely low ball me on my trade-in by offering $3k under what Edmunds says. They wouldn't even budge, so I walked. I imagine I might get a call in a couple days, because they have 13 Wranglers and 7 of them are this exact same model in various colors.
