Good Deal? Fair Deal? Keep Pushing?

I am in Philadelphia and looking at an 08 leftover JK Unlimited X. Power package, hardtop, 17" Wheels, Automatic.

The dealership I was going to deal with had it on its lot since Dec '07. It is white, so not moving. Unfortunately they just closed there doors and now Chrysler financial owns it. I went to the closest dealership to my work, they can get it, and they gave me #'s.

MSRP $27230
Invoice $25904
1500 rebate $24404

I dont know what to do. I really like the salesmanager and salesman, but it just seems like they can do better. I dont mind them making a little money, but some of the prices in this post, make me feel like I should make them work a little harder?

Any thoughts?

you can always go up but you can't go down on the price. Go low and work your way up you can always take the offer if they won't budge. I just walked out of a 2008 rubicon stickers at 33610 will sell for 27,996 plus doc (279) . They wanted to give me 7500 for a 2008 Nissan Sentra. Granted it was rear ended and fixed but still thats just stupid. I'm going to another dealer and see what they will do on the same ride. Last time I dealt with this dealer I had the same problem. Bought at another dealer with the understanding that the Dodge Nitro was the one on the dealers showroom floor. Salesman called as soon as i got home asking if i bought it. I'd love to do it to them again!

Was also offered a 2008 unlimited "S" (bigger wheels) stickers at 27985 will sell for 23,605 plus doc. These were both automatic with hardtops and both 4 door.

I have a pricing thread in the JK section. Basically I'm finding it pretty easy to get $5k off sticker....not much better than that.....unless you want an automatic trans.

Actually, with the financial state of Chrysler they shouldn't be worried about making ANY money.....they need to raise capital an way they can.

I just called the dealer to ask about trade in value for my jeep and he said it's really not a good time to sell a car. I think you can probably get a good deal right now.

I'll be a first time Jeep buyer. I'm looking at a 2008 Wrangler Unlimited X. Here's the price buildup on top of the Base which is $22,580:

Detonator Yellow $225
24S $1,670
Power Convenience $800
4-Speed Auto $825
Black Appearance Mopar $685

After the $2000 rebate and a dealer break of $1315 the total comes to $23,470. What do the experts think? How much more do they have to give?

Thanks, I'm getting excited.

Soft Top I assume. MSR $26785. I think you can get to $21400 + tax/tags/dealer paperwork fees. So if your $ includes all that, then I think you did very well.

yes, soft top. And a $660 Destination Charge which I didn't mention which actually would bring the listed window sticker MSRP to $27,445... Does your $21,400 include the destination charge?
